Bad Gleichenberg

Oct.2

Before Landing
The flight towards Austria was overall good. There were a few delays here and there but it wasn't anything major. We were able to make all of our connection flights and arrive safely :)

The only mishap was that my luggage did not arrive until the following day. I was not a happy camper when I heard the news that my luggage was still at the Chicago O'Hare International Airport when I am in Austria.

The town/area we are staying in is called Bad Gleichenberg. It is also known as a "health resort" because along with the beautiful scenery of the countryside and wonderful hiking trails, Bad Gleichenberg has thermal springs that said to have healing capacity. A perfect place if you are looking for a relaxing get-a-way or if you are seeking medical treatment.

Patrick and Eileen in the shared Dormitory Kitchen

Now that we are away from home, we have to start cooking! The slight problem is that neither Patrick or I really know how to cook. It is horrible I know but it is the truth. :(

Luckily, we met Eileen. She is from Germany and is also studying Health and Tourism Management. She showed us to how to make a quick and easy salad with lettuce, oil, croutons, tomatoes, a can of corn, and bell peppers. It was nutritious and tasted great!
