Scavenger Hunt

Oct. 23

Each year all of the incomings have to participate in a scavenger hunt. Find the clues and it will lead you through the hiking trail to your final destination. These pictures are taken along the way.

Chaotic Class Schedule

Oct. 15

The class schedule here in Austria is very different compares to CBU. Classes for the most part only meet once a week and the meeting day and/or time vary with each passing week. Because the school on occasion will have professionals, who are working in the fields, come teach special topics classes, the schedule can change unexpectedly. So before class each morning, I have to check the scheduling system and my e-mail to ensure that my classes are still meeting for the day. It is very nerve racking at first because of my personality but it gives me a surprise when I wake up each morning.  :)

Graz, Austria (Part 1)

Oct. 12

Welcome to Graz!

Austria's second largest city, Graz, is about 2 hours by train from Bad Gleichenberg. It costs about 23 Euro for a round trip ticket. Personally that is kind of expensive, but luckily we found out that for 19.90 Euro we can get a VORTEILScard that is good for a year. If we present this card when we purchase our ticket, the fare is reduced by 50%. How awesome is that?!!! :)

First Week of Classes

Oct. 9

It is a little late since we are beginning the second week of class but I am just getting the hang of the scheduling here. It is so confusing since it changes every week. Overall, the first week of school was a breeze as always. We met with the professors and got a brief lecture about the materials - nothing to fancy. I will be updating how my schedule looks like for the month of October soon so you all can have a view of what it is like to have classes here. :)

"The Hill"

Oct. 7

Before arriving in Austria, Dr. Allen, Eva, and Elisabeth told us that the dorm that Patrick and I will be staying at is located behind the school on top of a hill. Walking will take approximately 5 mins to get to the University. Which doesn't sounds too bad because when I hear the word hill I think of a small incline not this...

Yes!!! We are finally here :)
We walk up and down this hill every time we go to class and grocery shopping. We are going to be in tip top shape when we get back to the U.S. in December
